Back to School celebration for National Payroll Week at MidlandHR

MidlandHR launched its new HR Outsourcing (HRO) Centre ahead of National Payroll Week (NPW) (2-6 September 2013) with this year’s theme being – it pays to learn. The dedicated HRO Centre based at its Britannia House office in Nottingham, has enabled MidlandHR to offer a wider range of payroll and HR outsourcing services – helping its clients to focus on their core business.

In true NPW fashion, the HRO Centre team went to great effort in organising a ‘Back to School’ week complete with a set timetable for quizzes, sports day and even a tuck shop. Teams were given a colour, a house name, and the chance to collect points by taking part in various curricular activities throughout the week from Geography, to Maths and History. A true sense of team spirit – and a healthy rivalry – was certainly in the air, with the houses competing for the top place on Friday 6th September.

Paul Willis, HRO operations director at MidlandHR, explains: “While the activities were focused on fun, as a specialist supplier of payroll and HR outsourcing and software, MidlandHR recognises the importance of personal and professional development. We invest heavily in our processes and people with 95.5% of staff CIPD or CIPP qualified or currently studying.

“By putting employees through relevant training and enabling them to achieve more, we can provide the best possible service to our customers. Take accuracy in payroll for example, over the last 12 months we have achieved an average payroll accuracy of 99.94%, through producing over 3.7 million payslips per year and processing £5.4bn in BACS payments.

“With fully managed payroll outsourcing customers having grown by 52% over the last 18 months, our clients had increasingly asked how we could add more value to their organisations. The expansion into other areas, including pensions administration, largely fuelled by the greater administrative burden due to the introduction of auto enrolment, is just one way that we are able to eliminate risk around legislative compliance, and take the pressure off our customers in-house teams.”
