Link Group makes itself at home with MidlandHR’s iTrent


MidlandHR has signed up Link Group as its latest housing association customer. Link has signed a five-year contract for iTrent, MidlandHR’s complete talent management, workforce planning, HR and payroll solution.

Link Group Human Resources manager, Pat Macmillan, explains: “It was important for us to move away from our previous system. It had been in use for nearly fifteen years and was outdated and in need of replacement since support for this product was also due to be withdrawn in 2011. Having reviewed a number of other solutions from vendors responding to our tender, we chose MidlandHR after receiving some convincing presentations. MidlandHR demonstrated value for money whilst providing Link with a fully integrated HR and payroll management system.

We were particularly impressed by iTrent’s Manager and Employee Self-Service functionality which will work towards refreshing a number of simple, repetitive HR admin processes, creating a more seamless workflow and enabling the devolvement of some of the everyday HR administrative duties to line managers. Self-Service will facilitate our managers in keeping and accessing up-to-date information on their own teams, including sickness, absence and performance management reviews, thereby giving them the ability to manage their own people to a greater extent.”

The team at MidlandHR will provide the housing and regeneration organisation with continuous support throughout its organisational change. While core HR, payroll and absence went live in February for its 350 employees, a phased approach throughout 2011 will see the implementation of the remaining modules including Self-Service, Recruitment and Learning Events and Development.
