MidlandHR celebrates double CIPP award wins

MidlandHR is celebrating two high-profile wins in the Annual Payroll and Pensions Excellence Awards from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP). MidlandHR won the prestigious ‘Payroll Service Provider of the Year’ award for 2012 for the second year running, while John Black MCIPP, MidlandHR’s legislation expert and product manager, received the ‘Working Partnership Award’ from the CIPP Policy and Research Team for the many years of help and advice he has provided.  The awards were held at the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales and, for the last nine years,  have sought to recognise excellence in payroll service provision.

Commenting on the double award wins, MidlandHR’s managing director, Declan McGrath, explains: “We are delighted and honoured to be named Payroll Service Provider of the Year for the second year running. Our expert HR and payroll outsourcing service team includes some of the industry’s brightest professionals with 85% of the team either qualified or engaged in CIPP and CIPD study. The development and commitment to internal talent and authoring of our very own underpinning technology – iTrent – guarantees the high level of technical and functional service quality provided to our customers on a daily basis.

“We are also incredibly proud of our colleague John Black’s recognition for sharing his payroll expertise within the industry. His practical knowledge has been invaluable for the policy team when representing the profession and CIPP members at consultation, providing a greater understanding of the scope and application of payroll software. John actively participates in various consultation exercises with other professional and government bodies such as HMRC and DWP and is instrumental in helping to shape and influence legislative change. His proactive engagement early on in the process ensures that MidlandHR has a thorough understanding of the business impact concerning new legislation and is able to engage with and represent the customer community to ensure change is realistic. This level of influence and understanding within our legislation team cascades across the business to guarantee that MidlandHR continually provides a comprehensive and expert level of service, in addition to ensuring that the iTrent solution is designed with the customer experience in mind.

“These awards reinforce the fact that MidlandHR is meeting the objectives it set out to achieve, namely creating business value for our customers. Whether they choose a comprehensive outsourcing service encompassing payroll and HR or outsource individual processes, our specialist services ensure that customers enjoy a risk free, best practice service, whilst accessing in-depth HR and payroll knowledge from our people.”

Lindsay Melvin, Chief Executive of the CIPP, adds: “As in previous years, the standard of nomination for the service provider of the year award was extremely high. For the second consecutive year, MidlandHR stood out and was successful in this category, providing evidence of its induction and training programme as well as an impressive 98% customer retention rate, making it a worthy winner. The CIPP extends its congratulations to MidlandHR for winning payroll service provider of the year 2012.”
